Dont mention any names, but play your parts as if you were these characters. Try to imitate their voices and gestures. Act your scene in front of the class. Sam Ovar has booked a single room 35. He is going to stay for three nights. His room is on the fourth floor. It is got a shower and a nice view of the sea. The toilet is a opposite the elevator.

Alex Hippli wants to reserve a single room too. Alex and Irene are married. Gulliver gives them a room on the top floor. They will arrive in a half an hour.

7. Role Play. In groups of three:

 

A and B are friends. They are in a hotel. C is the receptionist.

Read your role card and act the scene.

A You want a double room. You are going to stay for 2 or 3 days. Your prefer a bath in your room, but a shower is OK. You need a telephone. You want to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel.

 

B You want a double room or two single rooms if they are near. You don´t want the room to be very high, you prefer the first or second floor. You want a room with a TV. You don´t want to spend too much money.

 

C You have the following vacancies:

Today is the twelfth, and Claire has to go to Ireland on the fifteenth, so she is worried about the trip. But Helen is fantastic. She has got everything ready. She has got one ticket for Claire, and a hotel room. She also has some Irish money for Claire.

Claire needs some more cash, so Helen goes to the bank. She changes L150 sterling into Irish pounds. Jim also needs Helen. He needs to change money. Helen hasn´t got any small change, so she gives Jim some stamps instead. Jim is very grateful. He says he will buy Helen a drink, but she says she prefers some flowers.

7. Role play. In pairs, choose a role, A or B, and act  it out following the instructions.
